  • HDAW is a leading forum for the heavy duty trucking industry

Cincinnati, Ohio, March 1, 2006 - CVMI was widely discussed at the 2006 Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week. The convention began with remarks from Bill Ryan, Chairman and CEO of Point Spring & Driveshaft Company. He noted, "Everyone needs to consider technology. If you're not EDI or VMI capable, suppliers may not want to do business with you in the future due to the cost you place on them."

A panel discussing "The Truth About E-Business and Electronic Ordering" was conducted later in the show. John Minor, Executive Vice President and COO of Midwest Wheel Companies, was on the panel and commented, "For Midwest Wheel, we are able to manage three times more business with suppliers doing VMI than with our non-VMI suppliers." Tim Bauer, Operations Project Manager of ArvinMeritor, commented, "VMI changes the level of trust between supplier and distributor. We become closer to our key customers."

Carl Hall, President of Datalliance, also spoke about the importance of VMI and observed the basis of its growth. "VMI improves the collaboration of your best business relationships and drives higher performance for both parties. Specifically in the heavy-duty industry, we see sales increases of 25%, turns increases of 21% and reduced stockouts of 33%."

Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week was developed by the industry’s leading trade associations and marketing groups to create the most important and valuable event in the history of the heavy duty aftermarket by combining several events currently on the industry calendar. The intention of HDAW is to provide a forum that highlights the best elements of each of the association and marketing group's individual value propositions.
