Datalliance Enhancements Focus on Improving User Productivity and Inventory Management
Cincinnati, Ohio, May 19, 2006 - Datalliance® today announced the immediate availability of the latest release of Datalliance, a comprehensive internet-based VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) e-commerce service. The new release improves inventory management functionality and enhances end-user capabilities to perform daily tasks more accurately and efficiently. This release supports Datalliance.s ongoing development objectives of enhancing user productivity, improve information access through flexible reporting, and incorporating technology to simplify and reduce the overall cost to implement and operate Datalliance.
Enhancement Highlights:
User Productivity
- Additional functionality to manage cross references, required when the distributor's inventory/sell part number can.t be automatically matched to the supplier part that should be purchased.
- Enhancements to the look and feel of the user interface, including items such as more user-friendly button labels, fixed navigation menu position regardless of window size, and navigation aides on menu buttons.
Inventory Management
- New Inventory Metrics chart, available via Option Based Metrics, comparing the weekly valuations of Calc OP & Average Inventory over time.
- Significant enhancements to the evaluation and reporting of stockouts, including the closing of stockouts open for greater than one year. Stockout history can now be viewed by supplier item, offering a trend of stockouts across the VMI distributor base.
- Two new Alerts, to assist the Planner in catching un-acknowledged VMI orders and managing replenishment in an environment where distributors want to stock slow moving items in a hub location.
- Enhancements to E-mail reports including: validation/notification of errant data entry at request submission; a new distributor level stockout report listing items that are currently stocked out; and additional fields in the Suggest Stock report to better assist the distributor in making the decision to actively stock an item versus replenishing only when a customer back order is received.
