Datalliance Delivers New Release of Vendor Managed Inventory and Retail POS Data Analysis Services

  • Datalliance VMI and Datalliance Sales Insight SaaS applications enhanced through input from growing user community

Cincinnati, Ohio, December 3, 2008 - Datalliance® today announced immediate availability of the latest release of the company's Datalliance VMI and Datalliance Sales Insight services. Both are delivered as managed services via the Internet using the 'Software as a Service' (SaaS) model. Datalliance VMI makes it easy for suppliers and their customers to establish vendor managed inventory processes that fully align business objectives, improve collaboration, and streamline supply chain operations. Sales Insight helps manufacturers work collaboratively with retailers to grow sales by providing clear, actionable store-level sales and inventory information from product activity data provided by retail partners. Enhancements are immediately available to all users and are based on input from the growing community of companies using each service.

Datalliance VMI - New Release Highlights

  • Several enhancements related to the order review & launch process are included to increase planner productivity and handle additional supplier and distributor specific exceptions. An example is a new Alert that identifies items being suggested for a quantity that exceeds a maximum single order quantity as enforced by the Supplier.
  • Additional item identification values have been added to the Stockout e-mail report to increase its usefulness to both Suppliers and Distributors.
  • Increased flexibility is added in the closing of specific line items on a Purchase Order by allowing the Planner to do so directly from the Item Details - PO History page.
  • A significant enhancement is added to the way in which Product Activity data is processed. The system now supports instances where a distributor reports the same physical item multiple times (uniquely identified), in order to express quantities in different unit of measures (e.g. foot and role) and both need to be tied to a single supplier item for ordering and reporting purposes.

Datalliance Sales Insight - New release Highlights

  • For the Analyst user, two enhancements have been made to options available when creating a Period Comparison report and a new Monthly Summary report has been added for selection. These enhancements deliver upon the objective of increasing the self service nature of the solution.
  • For Sales & Analyst users, a new Store Walk report has been added. The output of this report is a multi-tab spreadsheet with summary and store detail tabs containing information previously available only by making a request to Datalliance Customer Care.
  • New reports have been added that increase the efficiency and effectiveness of communicating items that are reported by a Retailer that have not been cross-referenced to a Supplier item and items that have stopped being reported by a Retailer and may have been errantly inactivated. Both reports are delivered as spreadsheets to designated users.
