New Release of Datalliance VMI Delivers Enhanced Shipment Building, Expanded Promotion Handling and Planner Productivity Features

Datalliance today announced immediate availability of the latest release of Datalliance VMI. Delivered as managed service via the Internet using the 'Software as a Service' (SaaS) model, Datalliance VMI makes it easy for suppliers and their customers to establish vendor managed inventory processes that fully align business objectives, improve collaboration, and streamline supply chain operations. Enhancements are immediately available to all users.

Key enhancements include:

• Enhanced Shipment Building: These enhancements provide further support for fast moving consumer packaged goods and include new capabilities for planning single or multiple full truck load (FTL) shipments using shipping constraints such as min/max weight, pallets or dollars that result in the most optimized time-supply of inventory across the full product mix while minimizing the transportation cost per case. Shipment recommendations are automatically calculated based on user-specified policies. User overrides, dynamic alerts, and other capabilities enable high planner productivity while ensuring compliance to shipment policies.


• Expanded Promotion Handling: These enhancements are also of particular importance to manufacturers of consumer packaged goods. With the new release, users have several flexible approaches for managing promotion event quantities triggered by the supplier or the customer. Suppliers can enter promotions online directly or through direct integration with promotional demand systems. Customers can introduce promotion quantities as part of their standard EDI 852 Product Activity record to add promotion demand to their normal turnover demand.


• Enhanced User Experience: Several changes have been incorporated to further streamline the user experience and increase planner productivity. User inquiries have been enhanced with several auto-search features that complete user requests with the fewest keystrokes. Exception condition alerting and reporting provide automatic notification of potential issues so corrective action can be taken. Performance reporting has also been expanded to provide better data access and insights, including data downloads into Excel for user analysis.
