MacLean Power Systems Partners with Datalliance to Enhance Customer Service

FRANKLIN PARK, IL., March 22, 2010- MacLean Power Systems is partnering with Datalliance to enhance and expand our Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) process. VMI is a lean process that takes our customers' inventory status daily and issues an automatic purchase order on our system when inventory and open orders drops below set Reorder Points (ROP). Our customers' inventory and order status is linked daily via an Electronic Data Interface (EDI) to Datalliance. Datalliance applies a variety formulas and rules to determine if a new order is required. Once the ROP has been crossed, Datalliance sends orders to MPS via EDI, combining all customer requirements into one daily interchange.

VMI is lean for both our customers and MacLean Power Systems. Our customers' eliminate the task of monitoring inventory and issuing a purchase order that is faxed or sent electronically. MPS eliminates the need to review purchase and accept or enter them into our system. In addition, VMI is also automated as the vast majority of our customers' orders are repetitive and when a customer uses VMI, the order occurs automatically with no human intervention.

Datalliance is the world's largest independent VMI service provider, processing almost $5 billion in orders, over 13 million SKUs managed, and more than 28,000 customer locations. The MacLean Power Systems VMI program has been operating successfully for over 9 years, with more than 13 locations, and over 350 SKUs. With Datalliance we will increase our efficiency to manage the VMI accounts by using new tools and reports the Datalliance software provides. With greater efficiency we will be able to increase the locations and the number of parts managed by MPS, which further increases the productivity for MPS and our customers.
