Operation/Data Center Update
During the third quarter, the Operations group completed a significant upgrade to our infrastructure that will provide increased capability for future growth and enhance our ability to protect our customer's data. The migration required detailed coordination between the Operations, Development, and Customer Care groups. Thanks in part to our robust restore and recovery procedures, the upgrade was completed in less than half of the allotted maintenance window, and had no impact on customer processing.
After completing the expansion at our Blue Ash production processing facility, we have tripled the capacity of our Storage Area Network. In addition to the increased storage space for growth purposes, we now have additional infrastructure to allow for better performance balancing, and the flexibility to explore enhance testing and recovery capabilities.
Earlier in the quarter, we installed duplicate hardware and software for our virtualization system at our backup data center in Hamilton, Ohio. With this investment, we are now able to fully replicate our Linux-based servers to our disaster recovery facility, enabling a decrease in restore complexity and an increase in restore speed in the event of an unscheduled systems outage.
