Thoughts on Gartner's Supply Chain Top 25 and How VMI Works

Gartner, Inc., recently released its annual Supply Chain Top 25 list and, after reviewing, we’ve determined that 18 of the top 25 companies use vendor managed inventory (VMI) or some iteration of it. With 72% of the top supply chains using VMI, it’s no wonder why Datalliance has experienced immense success as a VMI service provider.

Looking at the list, notice that the top supply chains come from consumer goods and industrial sectors. We see this as strong evidence that VMI works for multiple industries and is further backed by Datalliance’s diverse customer roster.

Inventory turns are included on Gartner’s rankings as well. Of course, one of the core competencies of the Datalliance VMI platform is to increase inventory turns for a manufacturer. We are happy to see a number of companies who rely on VMI make Gartner’s Supply Chain Top 25.
