Leading Global Bearing Manufacturer Uses Datalliance VMI as Foundation for Program

NTN, one of the world’s largest broad-line bearing manufacturers, has shared their success with Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) in a newly published Datalliance VMI success story.

In the story, Scott Eiss, NTN Director of Field Sales, Industrial, North America, says: “VMI has proven to do what we had hoped it would do. It has provided the impetus and tools to consolidate and synchronize our data, optimize the levels and range of inventory our distributors carry, and provide previously unavailable visibility into sales and inventory at the distributor level. Most importantly, that is all adding up to increased sales for both NTN and our distributor partners.”

Maria Contessa, NTN Data Integrity Analyst says: “The insight VMI gives us into what’s selling and what isn’t at the distributor level is invaluable. Now we can give our sales team all the information they need to have productive quarterly meetings with the distributor where they jointly develop end-customer sales programs. It really gives us more information to work with in terms of joint planning for NTN and the distributor.”

Speaking about Datalliance support, Contessa adds: “I can’t say enough about the quality of the Datalliance CCare group. They are always there when we need them, and they are all extremely knowledgeable – about the VMI process in general as well as how to best use the platform. They’ve worked closely with us at start-up and as we’ve added more distributors. They also provide self-help tools like YouTube videos, and are more than willing to answer my questions whenever I call. We definitely work as a team.”
